Here we Come!

The house is clean! I hate coming home to a dirty house. Also, a friend of ours is taking care of the dogs & cat while we are gone. I don`t want him thinking we are messing people! I am pretty much packed & so is Matt. We are just getting showers now & putting the last few things in our suitcases. I`m so happy to be going home again! Please shoot a prayer our way. I`m not as nervous about flying since Matt is coming, but I still don`t care for it haha. I hope to come back with a lot of photos! And a pregnancy survey too!

A Few of my Favorite Things

I just got back from another great walk with Bama in the nice sunshine! It is 55 degrees but sunny as can be! I SHOULD be cleaning my house & finishing packing right now. We leave tomorrow to go home for the weekend. Matt is in our friends' wedding on Saturday, Jen was one of my college roommates & Kendal & Matt grew up together. We are very excited for them! On top of that wedding is Matt's mother's wedding on Sunday! She is marrying Bill, who is a great guy & who treats Marcia like a princess : )

I wanted to do a post of things that I love/use everyday/can`t live with out.
I LOVE me some Tervis Tumblers! Espically my Auburn ones! I love that they don`t sweat. I used another cup the other day & was so annoyed that water kept dripping on me. I use them everyday, unless they are all dirty haha
Now I just found these goodies when I flew back up to KY after my last trip home. They were passing them out on the flight. They are so delicous & 100 calories each pack. I eat them for a snack all the time now.

I can not live with out this item! I use it all the time, even put it on before bed too. I wear it under my lipstick & lip gloss. I always have at lease one in reach of me everyday.

I love this lotion. It smells great & it really does keep me mosituzed all day long.

I bought myself a sleeping mask maybe 3 years ago & have never looked back! I can NOT sleep without one now haha. This one I actually made for myself. I flip out if I can`t find it, I guess it is like my security blanket now!

I love to have things organized. Everything should have it's own place. I have about 10 of these Vera Bradley things. Some for organizing in my purse, in my bathroom, & for my make up.

What Florida girl doesn`t love flip flops?! Espically Old Navy's! They are cheap & come in every color.
I am the queen of solid color J. Crew tees. I have almost every color. I`m such a plain jane haha. If you are every around a J. Crew Outlet go inside! I got some for like $4 each!
I`m not really a jewerly girl, I try but it really isn`t my thing. But these earrings I wear pretty much everyday. I love all their post earrings. The only bad thing is I pretty much have to get a new pair every couple months. I ALWAYS lose one some how!

Now I`m finally going to clean my house & finish packing!!! Florida here we come!

Spring Fever & Lent

Yesterday the high was somewhere in the high 40s or low 50s. BUT the sun was out & there were NO clouds. So I went for a walk with Bama (the pup passed out below). I had to wear pants, & a long sleeve shirt but by the end of the walk I was alittle hot, it felt great! I can tell Spring is on it's way & that makes me so happy. This time of year cheers me right up. There is something so renewing about it, everything is starting over.
Please excuse my backyard, since it is winter we are not out there much so it just looks like a junkyard! Bama had himself a nice nap in the sun. Allie wouldn`t come outside because they were bombing again today.

The sun was nice & bright. It was not cold at all as long as you weren`t in the shade.

I stole Matt's Bible & sat out there & read for a while.

But it is kinda hard when Ralph is crying & howling the whole time. This is our neighbors basset hound, he is such a sweet dog. He loves to have Bama & Allie play with him through the fence, they run up & down together. If he didn`t cry & howl so much, I would steal him!

Lent is coming up & I have no idea what to do this year. Last year I didn`t drink for Lent. Well I`m already in the "not drinking boat" because I`m pregnant, so that is a no go. I don`t know what to give up for Lent OR take on. Since I`m pregnant & sit at home all day I don`t have too much going on in my life to give up. So I think I`m going the "take on" route this year. I really want to memorize a couple of verses I think. Ones that I can use when I feel like I`m being tempted by the devil. I guess I need to pray about it more. I would love to hear what yall are doing Lent!

I`m going to do a post about somethings I can`t live without/my favorite things, so keep an eye out for it : )

Had to Share

You know when you go into Wal-Mart for a can of soup & walk out with other things.....that happened today! Sometimes I just like to walk around & see what they have. I know that is always a bad idea. Anyways I was in the kitchen section, looking at the canning stuff. When I get back home my mom is going to show me how to can (makes jams & such things). She already has something planned for us to make for Christmas. So I was just checking stuff out. Well I saw these things & I thought they were the cutest things!
They are actually jam caddies. But I figured you could put anything in them really. Drinks, condiments, & such. I bought the 4 carrier.

I also got the two carrier. They are Better Homes & Gardens. You could always put little flower pots with flowers in them too. I have so many ideas now for using them.

Bring on the Rain

It is raining, thundering & lighting here and I love it! Growing up in Florida I think makes you have an appreciation for storms. I love to sit on my parents front porch while it storms. There is just something so peaceful. We woke up to a storm this morning & it will most likely storm all day. Someone in the house who does not like it is this little girl.
Allie does not like any loud sounds. So when it storms or the bombing range is going off like crazy she either hides here (Powder Bathroom) or upstairs in our room.
Matt & I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday. I still had money on my gift card he gave me for Christmas. I was back in the kids section & saw this book. It is a picture book that goes over different things that happen at a ranch. Plus, it will be a cute decoration in his room. I love to read & I really  hope I can pass that on to my kids.
On our way home we stopped by my favorite primitive store. I saw this napkin holder/salt &pepper holder & had to get it! The S&P shakers are little Mason jars, too cute! Now I just have to go buy napkins.

I`m still sick, but I`m feeling a lot better. I`m just hoping it is gone by the time we leave. 3 days till Florida!

Living in This Moment.....

This is a picture of my morning at 5:30am. The dogs woke me up because it was time for them to eat AND my Benadryl had just wore off. I have a stuffy nose, ugh. While you are pregnant you can take certain medicines but not all. And I did not have one congestion medicine in my cabinet that was on the "approved" list. So I made myself a little "sauna". I boiled some water, then put a towel over my head, & breathed it in! I sat there for about 10min & it really did help. I`m going to the store later to get medicine but that did the trick for now.

If I haven`t said it before, I`m saying it again.....GO CHECK OUT THIS BOOK, "Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl." I finished it this morning & I was actually sad. I think I`m going to go back through & highlight somethings I can to work into my daily life.

The last section today really hit me. I had talked about in a recent post about Matt & I being frustrated because we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are pretty much at 2 months till we move home. We are so ready to get our lives started, getting jobs, a house, & being with family. Our "plan" is move into the ranch house, Matt work for my Dad while he searches for jobs. Once he gets a job, we will buy a house, have the baby & then I will get a job too. This is all we talk/think about right now. I even found a house in my hometown we both LOVE and the price dropped recently. Well, this morning I read this verse in my book, "Many are the plans in a man's {woman's} heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails," Proverbs 19:21. Well Hello God, are you talking to me??? Then Lysa goes on to say,

God promises many times in the Bible that He has a plan for our lives. Since our lives are lived moment by moment, that must mean that He has a purpose for right now. I stopped looking for God in this moment. I stopped lingering with Him and considering His activity right in front of me. I stopped remaining and abiding closely with Him.

I started viewing this moment as something I just had to get through so I could move on to better things in the future, my great plans. I wrongly discerned that only meeting my future goals would bring satisfaction, significance, and self-worth.

The second paragraph is what really hit me. I`m looking at these next two months as something to just "get through". I`m ignoring the present and am caught up in the future that "I" not God have planned out. I should be looking for God & what He wants from me in these next two months. My husband is carrying this load on his shoulders, he is the head of the household. Maybe God wants me to encourage my husband, instead of leaning on him so much. Whatever the plan is it is not mine to make, it is God's. Easy to say, harder to actually think. Do you also plan, plan, plan for the future & ignore this moment now? I`ll admit that is exactly what I have been doing. I just love it when you read something & it hits you that God was talking right to YOU!
