Parker's First Birthday Party

Where does the time go? Tomorrow my little boy will be 1 year old! He was actually due June 24th but showed up 3 days later on the 27th. I was walking up and down the dirt driveway in front of the ranch house for hours, hoping something would start happening. If you would like to hear about Parker's birth story, here is the link.

This past Saturday we had Parker's birthday party here at the ranch. The theme was County Fair. When I was pregnant with Parker I thought of the theme Huckleberry Finn, but while looking around on Pinterest, County Fair caught my interest. So this party has been in the making a while, I tried to buy stuff here and there. Here are the photos from Saturday. A big thanks to Parker's God Mother, Jen. During the party she took all the photos for me with my camera.

We used Mason Jars instead of plates, you just layered your food in it. I can not take credit for the writing on the chalkboard, again thanks Jen! If you have seen my handwriting you would know why I wouldn`t write it!

No worries, the blue came off. We stripped him down and stuck him in his new pool his MaMaw gave him!

My mom has a little hat for the girls first birthdays and for the boys. Parker was not too happy about wearing it. 

When all was said and done, I think his party turned out nice. The before and after is a little stressful, my husband said if I get this stressed out, we shouldn`t do a big party again. I just stared at him....... I`m pretty sure at one point I said "my party". Now what to plan for his second birthday???

Home Sweet Home

On my last post I said how our next big thing coming up was Parker's party on Saturday. While this is a big deal, I totally forgot......we are closing on our house today! We put a bid in on a house in November 2011, it was a short sale. We got an insanely low price, BUT it is 7 months later! There was a lot of praying to God and learning to be patience with it. We are super excited, but there is a lot of work to be done. It is a 2 bedroom 2 full baths, which is great for now. But we will be converting the garage to the master (2nd bath is in garage, don`t ask haha). My father-in-law is a very handy person and my husband is too, so they will be doing as much as they can. We also have 2 fireplaces, which is awesome! The backyard is huge, which is good because 1/4 of it will have all Matt's man things (boat, work shed, etc.) The rest will be a good place for a garden but still a lot of room for Parker to play in. I use to work for Shelly Windham, who is an interior designer. She is such a huge help, she came out and helped me pick paint colors.

I haven`t got a shower curtain yet, but there is one at Target I have been eyeing. So there is a lot of work to be done, but we are ready, 7months ready!

Hi, Remember Us?

We have been away a long time! I started working full time near the end of March. Which meant everything from blogging to cleaning my house/cooking got pushed to the side so I could spend time with my little man. The best thing about being a teacher, summer break! I get pretty much 2 whole months with my guys. I am accepted a position for next year as a 1st grade teacher, which I`m over the moon about. But I am going to savor this time with my guy because I know the first day back at work will be soooo hard!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend at Matt's Grandparents house. We hopped on over to Eufaula, AL and spent the day on Lake Eufaula.

Last but not least, Matt's little sister, Makenzie graduated from High school. She is now the age Matt was when I meet him......I feel old.

So, now we are all caught up! I will be around a lot more, well till August : ) For now our big deal coming up, Mr. Parker's First Birthday Party a week from tomorrow! I have been planning like crazy for months and I hope everything comes together the way I planned OR that God helps me just go with the flow!
