The Nursery

Well it is finally done, minus the mattress & curtains. The mattress came in yesterday, just haven`t put it in the bed yet. I still need to go buy fabric to make the curtains. We did not paint the walls, the ranch house is a temporary house. But I think it is still cute, I mean handsome haha It fits perfectly with the theme in our home.
Changing Table
The Changing Table/Dresser & Glider (Please ignore the ugly window)
Glider & Table
The Glider Matt's cousin gave us. The pillow I made, the blanket was a gift from a family friend.
Table
A little table my Mom gave us. It will be good for sitting bottles & things on while on the Glider. The lamp & the old books my Mom gave us. The bandanna on the lamp is from the baby shower in Matt's hometown. The baby book will hold Parker's first photos (if he ever gets here!).
Crib
His crib & bedding. The little cow blanket is from Matt's sister. The little tractor Matt & I bought.
Dresser
The chest. The red scooter was mine, I got it when I was 5 for Christmas.
Wagon Wheel
My Mom made this for my hometown shower.
Towel Hanger
This is the hanger I bought at an antique shop in Kentucky.
Painting by Brannan
My Sister, Brannan, painted these for Parker. It is an outlaw & a sheriff.
Decor
My Mom gave us the photo of the puppies (they kind of look like Bama) & the other two signs I pulled from our own home decorations.
Greg's Photo
Matt's Father gave us this picture. His mother gave it to him, & now he gave it to us. It fits Parker's room perfect!
Bany's Photo
The picture is from my Uncle Bany's (where we got Parker's middle name) house. It is actually cloth, with different saddles on it. The little sliver picture frame my Mom gave us. The boot arrangement my Mom gave us but my Aunt Marian (who I am named after) made. The 3 bowls sets we bought. The Auburn/Alabama ones are the ones I used when I told Matt I was pregnant. I asked him "I wonder which they will be?" He was like, "Huh?" (remember this was at like 6am). I said, "I`m pregnant!" BTW......They will be AUBURN : ) The diaper cake is from my hometown shower, my sister Ambrey made. The little boots on top are from Matt's Aunt Shelia & Uncle Rodney.
Parker's Chair & Books
My Mother gave us this little "chair", which is actually a toilet! The cloth black & white book is from Matt's Aunt Karen. She gave it to him when he was born, then it went to Matt's cousins & now onto Parker. The cowboy book we bought. The other 2 books & the keys were gifts from family friends.

So other then the mattress & curtains, that is it. As you can see the theme is cowboy/country. I really do love it & can`t wait to see my little man in there!

9 Days Left!

That is how many days we are away from my due date! It is so crazy to think! Tomorrow I will be 39 weeks! I went to the doctor today & was checked for the second time. The first time I was checked last week I was maybe a centimeter dilated & 50% effaced. This week I am 2 - 3 centimeters dilated  & 80% effaced. I`m so ready for him to come, I went walking for 20 minutes & am going to go again tonight with Matt. I am between 18-19 lbs now from pre pregnancy weight. But lately I have been killing the sweets because really I have 9 days left, who cares!

I just wanted to share some sweet photos of my 2 nieces! I have so many pictures since I have moved back home but some how just can`t seem to get on here & share them.
Finley
This is Miss Finley, she is a crazy lady but so cute! Everytime she sees me she yells, "MEL" in a deep voice. Not sure why she always says it in a deep voice but I love it. And she always feeds me "Num Nums" aka food.
Maysen at Yankee Game
This is sweet Miss Maysen. She is a little bigger then this now. It is so fun to watch her grow. Yesterday she rolled on her side twice! Her & Mr. Parker will be about 3 months apart & I hope great buddies. If he doesn`t always try to beat her up or rope her!

Matt & Me at Yankee Game
Just wanted to throw in a photo of Matt & I. I actually just got my hair cut yesterday, about 3 inches off! It was a lot but I REALLY needed it. Plus I want to look good in my delivery photos!!

Food table at baby shower
Here is a photo from my LW baby shower my sisters & best friends threw for me. My sister Ambrey (Maysen's mom) made the diaper cake. It was so cute, & is now sitting in his nursery.

Outside at baby shower
So is this wagon wheel my Mother made. It is hanging above his changing table. This was also from the shower in LW, the theme was cowboy.

I still have photos to share from my Lakeland shower & Parker's Nursery. Hopefully soon & hopefully soon photos of him. Matt swears he is coming tomorrow but we will see. I told him though that will be his Father's Day gift, his son. Update on insurance, we do have it, & the state has recognized Matt as being in the National Guard. The only bad thing, we don`t have our new insurance cards yet. But as of now I don`t care, I`m just happy we have insurance! So that is done, my bag is packed, the house is clean, now we are just waiting around on him!

29 Days

In 29 days we will be heading to Lake Wales. This statement makes me so happy I could scream. I can not wait till that day. I can`t believe it is already April AND I`m in the third trimester! Other then those two things, it has been pretty slow around here. I have a lot of packing ahead of me but for some reason I just keep putting it off & having my new camera doesn`t help!
Kitty
Miss Kitty does not go outside at all, but every now & then she sneaks out.
Kitty
But I`m not to worried about her liking it because this is what she is doing most days. She is always curled up on some blanket or clothes sleeping.
Shadow
In the backyard playing around with my camera. Did I tell you how much I love it?! I can`t wait for Parker to get here so I can take TONS of photos of him!
Bama
But for now I guess I`ll just stick to animal photos.
 Matt
The weather is getting better so we cooked out. BUT then is started raining. My poor husband had to tough it out but it didn`t last long.
Cooking Out
Our grill is little but it gets the job done! I can`t wait to get home & have summer cookouts with our families!

On Parker news he is moving around like crazy & growing! I`m at the stage where you feel like your belly can`t get any bigger but you know that it will haha. Thinking I have 12 weeks left seems so long! His nursery furniture is on the road heading our way & his bedding is all bought. I can`t wait to get home & start decorating his nursery. We have also decided to change his middle name. We have decided on Parker Bany Brown. Bany was my great uncle's name, my father's mother's brother. Uncle Bany & my father were very close, & Bany was a well loved old Florida cracker. He passed away my freshmen year of college (before Matt & I dated). My father's whole family is Yugoslavian (makes me half). My Grandma & her 3 brothers do not have middle names & were named after other family memebers. I need to talk to my Grandma about it because she can tell me who Bany was named after & how to pronouce it in Serbian. I really feel this is the best choice for his name, I love that it has a rich family history. When I called my father & told him we decided it, he was very very touched & that makes my heart happy. I want Parker to grow up "Florida cracker" style & he will have an angel watching over him : )

They're Here!

Two bundles of joy were welcomed today! First my niece (3rd sister's) Maysen Blayne Williams was born this morning! She was 6 lbs. 4 oz. 20 inches, tiny little thing but has some chubby cheeks! I hate I`m not home to be there & see her. But I have been sent two pictures via text & she is so beautiful! I can`t wait to meet her!

The second bundle of joy........
016

It's here! UPS runs around 6 pm here, so I waited all day! I haven`t taken it off from around my neck! I think I`m in love <3
007
Miss Kitty my first model. As you can tell, we do not have kids yet (one is on the way). AND Matt is in the field all week. So please excuse the animal pictures!
021
028
Mr. Bama, he really isn`t suppose to be on the couch. But things happen like that when Daddy leaves : )
009
Miss Allie, she didn`t care for the camera too much. Plus she won`t ever stay still so she was the hardest to shoot!
012
This is the dress I made this morning for Miss Maysen. I got the pattern from here. But when I was going to finish it, I left the laptop downstairs. So I just winged it, I think it turned out pretty cute.
013

Here is another gift I made for Miss Maysen's room. I got the pattern from here. You put baking soda in it & hang it near the changing table to make the poop smell go away. It is suppose to have a button BUT I`m not that advance yet. I plan on sending a little "care package" tomorrow to the happy family.
014
From girly & pink to boyish & camo haha. That is my life now. Thank goodness I have 2 nieces I can do girl stuff for. But I`m not going to lie this camo onesie from Bass Pro with a shotgun shell on it is pretty cute! Parker is ready for hunting season! His dad approves appliques like this!
015
This is a pillow I made for Parker's nursery to go in the chair I`m putting in there. Again I got the pattern from here. Also again I started following their pattern but by the end I was winging it. The fabric & leather are samples from the interior designer I worked for. The back side is jean from a pair of Matt's old Wranglers. I didn`t know how sewing leather on my machine would go, but it worked out.

I`m so excited for tomorrow so I can try & shoot some photos outside. I just wish I had more subjects to take pictures of. I have been looking at the manual & all that fun stuff. I have a lot to learn but I`m looking forward to it.

The Dumps....

I have been kind of down in the dumps this past week. I think it is because I`m so ready to be home. We are at 41 days today, which isn`t that much time. But I just want to be there so bad. Plus I start thinking about packing. When I think of the big picture I get really over whelmed. I know I shouldn`t do that but I guess I`m letting the devil tempt me. So I have decided for my verse this week to memorize Matthew 26:41. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak". Here are two photos of my progress.
It doesn`t look like I have done much, but I really have! I am slowly working on the sewing room too.
Our dining room has turned into packing central.

We went yesterday to the doctor for my diabetes screening. I have always heard horror stories about the drink you have to drink. At the doctor I`m at now they have orange & fruit punch. I asked my doctor if she heard one was better & she said fruit punch. So when I went to drink it I`m braced myself for something gross.......it actually was really good! It tasted like the juice in the bottom of those Popsicles that come in a long skinny bag. The appointment was fast once I had my blood drawn, she measured me, we listened to his heart beat & we were out of there. I will go to the doctor one more time up here, April 19th! We also bought Parker's bedding. I went to order the bedding online from Pottery Barn Kids & the shipping was $21! No thanks! I knew we had a Pottery Barn Kids in Louisville so we ran in there before my appointment.
Here is the bumper.

Here is the quilt. They didn`t have the crib skirt in the store so they ordered it online for me & waved the shipping fee. I love the bedding, it makes me want to start working on his room now! But I gotta wait 41 days......hold on while I scroll up to read the verse again ; )
I`ll leave yall with this link to make this awesome fruit pizza! I only used strawberries because fruit costs a little too much for me.  I can only eat a tiny slice (the size of what is missing) cause it is very sweet. Just make sure you have a glass of milk near by!

I am going to post a pregnancy survey I swear! I just need to get my husband to take a photo of me to go along with it. My belly is quite round now!

Antiques

The little town right out side the base has 2 good size antique stores. So I figured I would hit them up before we move. I was on the look out for something for Parker's nursery & a Ball Jar.
I had been looking online for a western coat rack to hang. But the ones I had looked at were around $40.....this one I got for $3.50! The booth I bought it from had a 50% off sale. I`m going for a vintage cowboy theme & this will be perfect!

I got this for $4.50. It will be cute with flowers in it or corks!

I haven`t posted in a couple days, not much is going on here. I`m still slowly packing. We are just counting down the days (I think we are at 46 today). My bible verse memorization is going great. I need to pick out my new one this weekend. I would love to hear yall's favorite verses, if you would like to comment! I plan on posting a new pregnancy survey tomorrow hopefully!

Parker's Nursery Furniture

We ordered Parker's nursery furniture yesterday! It is so exciting to be checking things off the long list. There is a children's store here in town that sales children & baby furniture. We had went three times looking at the room sets trying to deiced. They had room sets at their store they already bought that you could get great deals on. We first were looking at those. The brand we liked the most was Westwood Design. All the cribs & dressers were very sturdy & well made. I went home & looked up the brand & reviews on it. No one had anything bad to say & there were no recalls. They can even register your crib online so if they do have a recall they will contact you. So when we were talking to the owner she pulled out her book with all the room set that Westwood makes. The one we ended up buying was not in their store actually. Matt saw it first & showed me. The collection is Jonesport, the finish is Tuscan.
The crib is convertible, we also purchased the rails to do so (crib to toddler to full size). The slits on the headboard are so you can tie your bumper to it.

The dresser combo, we will use as the changing table.

What I love about the two top drawers are they don`t pull out. They open like doors, so instead of you having to reach over the drawers while changing the baby you can stand right up against the dresser and have your supplies next to you.

The 5 drawers chest.  We bought this piece more for future use. This bedroom set will turn into one of the kids rooms.

Here is a picture of the collection in a room setting. We were looking at buying the hutch. It even came with lights in the top. But it was more of a want then a need.

The room set will be used for all our babies. I know it is more boyish looking but Matt & I both like that kind of look with wood, I call  it rustic. And if the next baby we have is a girl, trust me I can "pink" that room up & it will not look boyish haha. We both really love it & I can`t wait for it to get here to see it.

Westwood Design is both CPSC & JPMA certified.

Parker's Nursery

The fun part of pregnancy has started, planning the nursery! We don`t move home until April 28, & we are staying at the ranch house at my parent's ranch. We pray this will be something that is very temporary. We won`t really unpack while we stay there. Once Matt gets a job, then we will buy a house, and then I can actually put the nursery all together. All we can do is pray to God he will have a job for Matt when we get home. If you want to pray for us bring it on!
This is the Hayden bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. We are going to use a brown crib.

Also we are not going to use the fitted sheets with the set. I just plan to get the bumper, quilt & skirt. I`m just going to do a solid blue fitted sheet.

The "theme" of the nursery is going to be cowboy/ranch. This is a wall decal I plan to get.

Here is a photo of a lamp shade I`m hoping I can get! I already have a plain brown lamp I can put it on.

I want to go with kind of the vintage cowboy look. But I don`t want over kill, just a few things here & there.
